Spectra Group’s Commitment to Endurance and Excellence
Over recent years, Spectra Group has sponsored several notable endeavors such as:
Row Sentinel Atlantic Challenge: A 3,400-Mile Solo Row
In 2021, a former SAS soldier (Ian Rivers) rowed solo 3,400 miles across the North Atlantic (from New York to the Isles of Scilly) with only the sun and stars to guide him, becoming the first person to do so and raising over £100,000 for military and healthcare charities.
Frozen Dagger Challenge: A Daring Antarctic Attempt
In 2023, Sam Cox, an ex-Royal Marine, made a daring solo Antarctic crossing attempt to break the world record for the longest unsupported solo Antarctic crossing with a proposed route covering over 2000km. Unfortunately, after 32 days and over 600km on the ice, he had to abandon the attempt due to kidney stones and needing urgent medical attention.
Zara Lachlan’s Atlantic Row: A Journey to Set Three World Records
In 2024, Spectra Group is sponsoring Zara’s bid to row across the Atlantic Ocean solo and unsupported in October. This ambitious 3,600 nautical mile, 90-day journey from Portugal to French Guiana aims to set three world records:
- First female to row from Europe to mainland South America solo and unsupported.
- Youngest person to achieve this feat.
- Youngest female to row from any mainland to mainland across the Atlantic.

CEO Simon Davies on Supporting Veterans and Endurance Challenges
Simon Davies, CEO of Spectra Group said: “As a veteran myself, and with many veterans employed by Spectra Group, I am very keen to support military and veteran charities but also those who support those to achieve excellence and push the boundaries of what we think is achievable. Our ethos at Spectra Group is to design communication products that are focused on solving the problems that front-line soldiers face, and so, to also support members of the armed forces community to have greater access to sport, challenge, and adventure is a real privilege.”
