COMMUNICATIONS

GENSS supports forces that need assured communications across dispersed teams, vehicles, UAVs, sensors and command elements.
Built around a scalable, modular SDR architecture, the system enables adaptable voice and data communications beyond line of sight while supporting integration with wider tactical networks and mission applications.
Built in the UK | Designed by users for users | Trusted innovation from Spectra Group

GENSS enables secure voice and data over L-Band tactical satellite services, giving users an efficient beyond-line-of-sight communications option for mobile and distributed operations.
Today, GENSS supports flexible bandwidth usage across 5–200 kHz channels, with typical performance around 64 kbps and up to approximately 90 kbps in optimal conditions.
GENSS extends MANET networks beyond the traditional line-of-sight “bubble”, allowing tactical data to move across distributed forces using narrowband satellite bearers.
This enables applications such as ATAK to support wider operational awareness in DDIL environments, helping teams remain coordinated when terrain, distance or infrastructure limit conventional communications.
